The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers.
EAA Chapter 1498 actively supports the Young Eagles program by regularly flying Young Eagles as part of our yearly activities. To find out when our next year event will occur, contact our chapter Young Eagle Coordinator.
For more information on the Young Eagles program, visit the Young Eagles Website.
The YE flights today 9/15/12, we had 10 YE's fly which includes 4 Young Fellows, and 6 Young Ladies take rides with 2 planes from Chapter 1498, 1 plane from Wadena Pilots Association (Chapter 551 St Cloud), and 1 plane from Fargo Chapter 317.
Dave & Bonnie Jennen from Chapter 1174 was gracious enough to help with the certificates, log books and organizing the pilots/young eagles on the computer program from EAA National. Dan Vickmark & Larry Stockert was a great help on ground crew. We couldn't have completed the Flights with out all the great help. Thanks to all for a safe and successful Young Eagles Flight.
